The Ashland-Greenwood Schools serve the communities of Ashland and Greenwood and the surrounding rural area within the borders of our school district.
The town of historic
Ashland has a population of approximately 2300 citizens and Greenwood has around 700 people. We are located halfway between our state's two largest cities of Lincoln and Omaha. We have two state parks, museums, a wild animal park, a motor raceway, and not just one but four golf courses within our district.
Our K-12 student enrollment numbers approximately 780 students with 450 attending our elementary school. We have three sections for each grade level Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. Our elementary school is a three-story structure built in the 1920's. This building was completely renovated in 1995 and is now very modern on the inside. All our rooms have telephones which allow us better communications especially with our media retrieval system for educational television. Our building is completely networked with two computer workstations in each room plus a 25 workstation computer lab and 25 computer laptops. We do lots of really neat things at our school. Writing and communication skills, Problem-Based Learning, Information Literacy and using Technology within our curriculum is stressed by our teachers. Our teachers make learning fun.
