Participation in
Community Life
The board of education
urges all staff members to become active participants in the activities of the
community in which they live. The effect of such involvement is to provide the
community with a better understanding of the educational program of our
schools, and to gain support for our efforts to provide better education for
every student.
Such activity is not
required for initial or continued employment or advancement, nor does the board
presume to suggest what kinds of involvement in community life are appropriate
outside of the political activities which are part of the democratic tradition,
yet the board firmly believes that active participation in community life on
the part of its employees will work to the advantage of all, students, staff
and citizens of the community.
