Administration
Line of Responsibility
Each
employee of the school district is ultimately responsible to the board.
The
superintendent of schools shall serve as the chief line officer of the school
district (See 2111). In this role, the superintendent shall exercise general
supervisory responsibilities for the performance of all district personnel.
Line
and staff responsibilities shall be specified on an organization chart prepared
by the superintendent and updated on an annual basis (See 2410).
All
personnel shall refer matters requiring administrative action to the
administrative officer charged with Supervision of the area in which the issue
arises; generally, personnel will refer matters to the person designated as
their immediate supervisor on the organization chart of the district.
Administrative
officers shall refer matters requiring action beyond the scope of their
delegated authority to the next higher authority, i.
e., supervisors and principals shall refer such matters to the superintendent
and the superintendent shall refer such matters to the board of education.
All
employees shall have the right to appeal a decision made by any
administrator to the next highest administrative authority and, through successive
steps, to the board. Procedures for consideration of complaints are specified
in board policy (See 13l2)
