Sales and Disposal of Books, Equipment and Supplies

 

 

Disposal of Books

 

Out-of-date or discontinued books will be disposed of in accordance with directions given by the superintendent; as a general rule, out-of-date or discontinued books which do not have a resale value will be given to pupils enrolled in the school district.

Obsolete Equipment

 

Obsolete equipment which the Superintendent determines has value shall be disposed of in accordance with action taken by the board in a regular meeting of the board; disposal of obsolete equipment shall be roll call vote of the board in open session, shall require a two-thirds affirmative vote of all members of the board, and the record shall state how each member voted or if the member was absent or not voting.

 

Equipment that the Superintendent has determined has no resale value may be disposed of directly to the landfill via a disposal company. 

 

Sales of Supplies

 

The superintendent of school is authorized to sell supplies in the most favorable manner to the district.  The superintendent will report on the sale to the Board of Education.
