Appointments of
Professional Personnel
Personnel Records
An individual personnel file
shall be maintained for all professional employees.
Upon request, any
professional employee shall have access to his or her personnel file and shall
have the right to attach a written response to any item included in said
file. Further, any employee may, in
writing, authorize any other person to have access to his or her personnel
file.
The right of access to one’s
individual personnel file and the right to attach a written response to any
item included in said file shall not be granted with respect to any letters of
recommendation solicited by the employee which may
appear in said personnel file.
No other person, except
school officials while engaged in their professional duties, shall be granted
access to said file nor shall the contents thereof be divulged in any manner to
any unauthorized person.
The Superintendent of
Schools may remove items that are out-dated or no longer necessary to be
maintained in accordance with state statutes.
Items removed shall be given to the staff member from whose file the
materials are removed.
