Elementary and Secondary Students

 

Attendance

 

Partial and Concurrent Enrollment

 

            Students enrolled in the Ashland Greenwood Public Schools shall be expected to be in attendance the entire school day except:

 

a; when state otherwise in a Special Education Individual Education Plan

 

b; when excused as provided for in the student handbook

 

c; when meeting district requirements to attend a work release program or enrolling concurrently in a post-secondary college program.

 

            For grades 7-12, part-time enrollment shall be allowed at the discretion of the superintendent and building principal taking into consideration disciplinary problems, class size, possible disruption in school and other criteria that the administration may develop. No part-time enrollment shall be allowed for elementary grades. (Amended February 5, 1996)

 

            Nothing in this policy shall prohibit a parent option to remove students from a specific class or program for sincerely held religious beliefs as provided for in Board Policy 1240.

 

            The Superintendent or his/her designee shall implement this policy upon its adoption.  Any administrative arrangements made prior to the adoption of this policy shall terminate at the end of the 1995-96 school term.
