Internal Board Policies

 

Orientation

 

 

The board and its staff shall assist each new member-elect or appointee to understand the board's functions, policies and procedures before he or she takes office. The following methods shall be employed:

 

1.  The electee or appointee shall be given the same meeting and other materials as a member of the board.

 

2.  The electee or appointee shall be invited to attend board meetings and participate in board discussions.

 

3.  The secretary shall supply material pertinent to board meetings and the superintendent or board president shall explain its use.

 

4.  The incoming member shall be invited to meet with the superintendent and other administrative personnel to discuss the services they perform for the board.

 

5.  A copy of the board's policies and bylaws, a copy of the school budge and any other material deemed helpful shall be  made available to the incoming member by the secretary.
