Formulation of
Policies
The Board, representing
the people of the district, is the governing body which determines all
questions of general policy to be employed in the conduct of the public school
district.
Proposals regarding
school district policies and operations may originate at any of several
sources: a parent, a taxpayer, a professional employee, a member of the board, a civic
group, a professional consultant, and so forth.
Action on policy
proposals shall be taken by the board in accordance with its bylaws. The board
shall take action after a proposed policy has been considered by the
superintendent and the superintendent has presented a recommendation to the
board. Board of Education policies will be reviewed annually in accordance with
existing policy. (8344)
